PPO Insurance Answers

Metlife PPO, and other dental insurance PPOs

Thank you for taking the time to see our explanation for this insurance ‘hic-cup’

We need to drop out-of-network for a couple of months

Metlife has two levels of payment to dentists. We are being paid at the lower level.

80% of our patient's dental plans will pay benefits at the higher level.

The only way we can move 'up' to that better paying level is to drop out of the network that pays at the lower level!

It takes awhile to work through this and get back into network

Metlife will likely contact you and tell you we are out-of-network starting January 31st. We expect to back in-network in 3-4 months.

In the meantime

Preventive care (cleanings, xrays, exams) are still covered by Metlife even if we are out-of-network!

We will honor the same PPO fee copayments that you previously had. We still file your insurance for benefits.

We apologize for the confusion this may cause, but with the cost of everything going up, we need to work with insurance companies to improve our reimbursement for dental care.

Thank you for your patience during this time!
